Payments Fintech and Financial Services Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Payments Fintech and Financial Services Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in advising fintech companies on payments, banking, and credit-related products, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and transactional support. This role offers the opportunity to work exclusively with financial technology pioneers, supporting companies across all stages from inception to capital markets.

Job Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to fintech companies on payments-, banking-, and credit-related products.
• Review and negotiate contracts related to financial services and corporate transactions.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide regulatory compliance counseling to clients.
• Advise on transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital raises.
• Navigate complex regulatory frameworks and provide strategic advice to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to address legal issues and achieve business objectives.
• Maintain client relationships by delivering exceptional client service and legal expertise.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with superior organizational and project management skills.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission through reciprocity.
• 3+ years of experience working in payments and banking law with a focus on regulatory compliance.
• Demonstrated expertise in advising fintech companies on legal and regulatory matters.
• Strong interest in financial services innovation and navigating regulatory challenges.
• Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous eye for detail and good business judgment.
• Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts effectively.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality legal services and exceptional client service.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certification or training in fintech law, banking law, or regulatory compliance is advantageous.
