A law firm in Albany, NY, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience in federal employment law litigation, strong advocacy skills, and a solid understanding of current state and federal agency procedures. This role involves litigating various federal employment-related claims, advising clients on employment matters, and representing clients in court and other legal settings.

Duties:

  • Litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of federal employment-related claims.
  • Advise, counsel, and represent clients on various employment matters.
  • Represent clients in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration on employment matters, including class/collective actions, discrimination, whistleblowing, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies tailored to each client's needs and objectives.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Participate in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and trial.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolutions in employment-related disputes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and regulations at both the state and federal levels.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in federal employment law litigation preferred.
  • Strong background in class/collective action, wage and hour, and leave law is a plus.
  • Competitive academic credentials.
  • Current Bar admission (in any state).
  • Understanding of current agency (state and federal) procedures.
  • Existing client bases may qualify candidates for higher base salaries.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar admission in any state.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and courtroom skills.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Strong understanding of federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks simultaneously.
