Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Foreclosure Attorney to oversee and manage all aspects of foreclosure proceedings in the State of Vermont. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a Juris Doctor degree, and admission to the Bar in Vermont. They will work closely with support staff and clients to ensure efficient and effective completion of foreclosure processes.

Duties:

  • Oversee and work closely with support staff in drafting and reviewing all documentation necessary for judicial mortgage foreclosure in Vermont.
  • Manage related matters, including debt disputes and defense to counterclaim and other actions to enjoin foreclosure.
  • Oversee all stages of the foreclosure process in Vermont, from demand to recording of foreclosure deeds.
  • Represent the interests of mortgage lenders and servicers in all stages of the foreclosure process in Vermont.
  • Review all statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes efficiently and effectively.
  • Attend and argue motions and other hearings before the courts.
  • Attend mediation sessions related to foreclosure proceedings.
  • Provide legal counsel to foreclosure clients throughout the process.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a Juris Doctor degree.
  • Admission to the Bar in the State of Vermont is required; admission in other New England states is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of dealing with large and complex clients.
