Senior Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team in Fresno, CA. This role offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated immigration lawyer to manage a diverse caseload while advancing in a supportive and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding clients through complex immigration matters, working with a skilled team, and contributing to the growth of the firm.

Duties:

• Provide strategic advice and explain immigration laws to clients.
• Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Effectively manage a varied caseload, ensuring cases are progressing smoothly and in a timely manner.
• Conduct client intakes, including visiting detention centers to meet with clients and assess their cases.
• Prepare and submit a wide range of immigration applications, such as removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and revise immigration applications to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations regarding immigration law changes.
• Provide consultations to potential clients, developing individualized immigration strategies and advising on the best course of action.
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews.
• Analyze legal matters to determine any potential benefits or risks in clients' cases.
• Draft and submit legal briefs in support of various immigration cases.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in immigration law.
• Ability to manage a high caseload while ensuring case progress.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively within a team and with clients.
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar.
