Job Title: Institutional Response Group Attorney

Job Overview:
A leading law firm based in Wilmington, DE, seeks a skilled attorney to join its Institutional Response Group. This role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with a prominent team specializing in Title IX and civil rights compliance. The position focuses on assisting institutions with regulatory frameworks, investigations, and policy development, emphasizing trauma-informed and fair resolution practices.

Duties:

  • Conduct investigations under Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, or related civil rights and criminal laws addressing:
    • Sexual and gender-based harassment and violence
    • Protected class discrimination or harassment
    • Child or elder abuse
  • Assist institutions in implementing trauma-informed, impartial prevention and resolution processes.
  • Develop written policies, procedures, and educational materials.
  • Provide compliance guidance on Title IX, the Clery Act, child protection frameworks, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver strategic advice on safety, security, and institutional misconduct issues.
  • Engage with educational institutions, corporations, hospitals, and non-profits to design systems, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Travel to client sites as needed to deliver services.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in investigations under civil rights or criminal laws, particularly related to harassment, discrimination, and abuse.
  • Strong knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, and child protection regulatory compliance.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Leadership experience and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Availability for travel as required.

Education:

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar licensure in the state of Delaware is required.
