Job Overview: A law firm in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience handling litigation matters independently, managing case strategy, and providing counsel to clients. They will also possess strong leadership skills to supervise junior attorneys and staff members.

Job Duties:

  • Participate in the firm’s professional activities, including client intake, trial preparation, etc.
  • Preferably serve as first or second chair trial experience.
  • Handle litigation matters from inception through trial with minimal supervision.
  • Draft complex pleadings and motions and argue discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Formulate and develop case strategy and advise clients on risk mitigation and pre-suit resolution options.
  • Conduct research, interview clients and witnesses, and handle other details for comprehensive case management.
  • Manage the discovery process and supervise junior attorneys and staff with document review projects.
  • Preferably possess mediation and AAA and other arbitration experience.
  • Perform complex legal research using tools such as Westlaw.
  • Ideal candidates will have a portable business book with at least $200,000.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal court procedures and rules.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive matters.
  • Provide strong oral and written communication skills in interactions with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
  • Demonstrate significant courtroom experience.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • J.D. Degree.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and court procedures.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
  • Licensed to practice law in Tennessee and in good standing.
  • High degree of initiative, mature judgment, and discretion.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.

Skills:

  • First or second chair trial experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Mediation and arbitration experience preferred.
  • Experience with drafting complex pleadings and motions.
  • Leadership and supervision skills.
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research.
