Job Overview:

A growing Workers' Compensation law firm located in Stanton, CA, is seeking a motivated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney. This position involves representing injured workers, negotiating claims for benefits such as medical care, disability, and impairment, and managing all aspects of workers' compensation litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in workers' compensation law or a willingness to learn and will contribute to the firm’s mission of advocating for clients.

Location:

Duties:

  • Negotiate workers' compensation cases with insurance companies and defense counsel.
  • Evaluate and prepare cases, including discovery, depositions, and settlements.
  • Attend hearings and depositions at the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
  • Prepare and file legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Provide updates to clients on the status of their claims.
  • Perform legal research and analyze cases to develop strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and ensure clients receive appropriate compensation.
  • Manage a caseload effectively and identify medical and legal experts when necessary.
  • Provide guidance to non-attorney team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Some knowledge of workers' compensation law (training available).
  • Ability to manage a large caseload efficiently.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with legal and non-legal staff.
  • Diligence, a strong work ethic, and sound judgment.
  • Technologically proficient, comfortable with a paperless office environment.
  • Must have passed the California Bar Exam and hold an active California State Bar license.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
