Mid-level Class Action Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in East Palo Alto, CA, seeks a Mid-level Class Action Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in class action defense and complex commercial litigation, preferably acquired at an AmLaw 100 firm. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a multi-matter docket effectively.

Duties:

• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and promptly reply to correspondence.
• Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products in class action defense and complex commercial litigation.
• Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.
• Foster positive work relationships and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Comply with all firm policies and practices, including client confidentiality and ethical conduct.
• Engage in physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
• Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned by senior attorneys or partners.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• 4 years of litigation experience, with a preference for experience at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience managing a multi-matter docket, particularly in class action defense.
• Familiarity with complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation.
• Previous federal clerkship experience is preferred.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, attention to detail, and sound business judgment.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, including persuasive communication and the ability to influence others.
• Research and problem-solving skills, with conceptual thinking and strong project management abilities.
• Bar admission in good standing; admission to the California Bar is required.
