Associate Attorney needed for Lake Elmo office

A prominent civil litigation law firm based in Lake Elmo, Minnesota, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 0-3 years of experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of litigation cases, including insurance defense, and develop key legal skills while working alongside experienced attorneys. Candidates must have a strong background in legal research and writing, and be licensed to practice in Minnesota. A Wisconsin license is preferred but not required.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and analysis to support ongoing litigation cases.
• Assist in the preparation, drafting, and filing of legal documents and pleadings.
• Represent clients in court, depositions, and hearings under the supervision of senior attorneys.
• Develop and implement legal strategies to achieve favorable case outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions that impact active cases.
• Utilize legal research tools, such as Westlaw, to stay informed on legal developments.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff to ensure effective case management.
• Manage legal administrative tasks, including file organization, client interviews, and evidence gathering.

Requirements

• 0-3 years of experience in litigation or a related legal field.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury law or insurance defense is helpful.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
• Strong research skills and familiarity with Westlaw or other legal research tools.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
• Wisconsin bar admission is preferred but not required.
