Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join their team in Columbia, Missouri. This role involves managing personal injury cases through the pre-litigation process while maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring high-quality legal services. The Associate Attorney will collaborate with a dynamic legal team and oversee non-attorney staff to ensure compliance with legal standards and regulations.

Duties

  • Manage personal injury cases from intake to pre-litigation, ensuring timely progression of each case.
  • Interact with and negotiate on behalf of clients with insurance companies to secure fair settlements.
  • Communicate directly with clients, maintaining strong, positive relationships and providing exceptional service.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests, responses, and settlement agreements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all legal documents and filings.
  • Comply with relevant legal standards and regulations to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with team members to share expertise and maintain high standards of legal service.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Bar license in Missouri.
  • At least 1 year of experience in personal injury law.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.) and comfortable with technology.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in Missouri (Required).
