A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced International Estate Planning Associate or Senior Associate to join its Private Client Practice. Duties

  • Provide expert legal advice on international estate planning, focusing on U.S. and non-U.S. taxpayers.
  • Advise clients on cross-border tax planning, wealth management structures, and legal strategies involving multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assist with the creation and management of foreign trusts, pre-immigration and expatriation planning, and U.S. property acquisitions by non-U.S. persons.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. tax reporting obligations related to foreign accounts, corporations, and trusts.
  • Work closely with clients to address complex estate planning matters and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of legal professionals to provide comprehensive solutions for high-net-worth clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in international estate planning and cross-border tax matters.
  • In-depth understanding of estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and multinational families.
  • Strong client service orientation with the ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to clients.
  • Member in good standing with the bar in the jurisdiction where the role will be based.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients in a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction where the position is based.

  • Expertise in international estate planning and cross-border tax issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to legal challenges.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple, complex matters.
