A law firm seeks an experienced Privacy & Cyber Litigation Associate to join its team in Harrisburg, PA. This position is ideal for candidates with 2 to 5 years of substantial litigation experience, particularly in privacy and cybersecurity law. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage complex cases, develop effective legal strategies, and collaborate with a team of skilled professionals in a supportive environment.

Duties:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of litigation matters, ensuring efficiency and timely progress of cases.
  • Lead fact-finding efforts, gathering and analyzing key evidence to build a strong case.
  • Research legal issues, particularly related to privacy and cyber law, to formulate strategies for litigation.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and other critical filings.
  • Conduct depositions, both defending and conducting them, with a strategic approach to uncover key information.
  • Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel to resolve cases favorably for clients.
  • Maintain active communication with clients, providing updates and strategic advice throughout the legal process.
  • Contribute to larger litigation projects, collaborating effectively with other team members to manage case flow and tasks.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in litigation, with a strong focus on privacy and cybersecurity law.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage cases and handle legal work with limited supervision.
  • Proficient in legal research, drafting documents, and managing case files.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to negotiate and interact with clients and opposing counsel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the PA State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others on complex legal matters.
  • Exceptional writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with privacy regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or other privacy-related statutes, is a plus.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations and deadlines while maintaining quality work.
