Job Title: Public Finance Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Public Finance Attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join their dynamic team. This position involves advising on a wide range of financing matters for state and local government entities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong transactional background, particularly in public finance and municipal bond transactions, and a collaborative approach to working with clients in the public sector.

Duties:

  • Advise state and local government entities on financing matters, including municipal bonds, notes, and other obligations (both tax-exempt and taxable).
  • Guide public infrastructure and capital improvement projects across the U.S. and its territories.
  • Handle debt offerings and business transactions for school districts, junior college districts, cities, counties, and special-purpose districts.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to structure and execute public finance transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant public finance laws, tax codes, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of transactional legal experience, particularly in public finance and municipal bond financing.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Active membership in the Texas Bar or the ability to become licensed in Texas.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Texas Bar membership or eligibility for Texas licensure.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of public finance laws, tax codes, and regulatory considerations.
  • Experience working with governmental entities, such as school districts, junior colleges, cities, counties, and special-purpose districts.
  • Ability to manage complex legal transactions and provide strategic advice to clients.
