A law firm in Chicago is seeking a seasoned Mergers and Acquisitions Resource Attorney to support the firm's M&A practice by managing transaction data, drafting template documents, staying abreast of legal developments, and contributing to training and marketing efforts.

 

Duties:

  • Input deal terms from signed firm deals into the Transaction Database and coordinate with the knowledge management team to audit and maintain the database
  • Prepare drafts or revise existing precedent of template documents for M&A transactions
  • Curate and organize the M&A group's forms, precedents, and other know-how
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to M&A practice, prepare summaries and alerts, and ensure new legal requirements are reflected in practice resources
  • Coordinate with the legal education team to brainstorm content for associate training and firmwide training efforts related to M&A
  • Work closely with the M&A marketing team to strategize on M&A promotion, assist with content creation for pitches, and contribute to the M&A blog and other marketing materials
  • Assist attorneys with day-to-day requests for precedents, templates, and other resources
  • Participate in resource, knowledge management, and practice innovation projects as needed
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or required

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed attorney
  • 7+ years of experience in a US M&A corporate/transactional practice
  • Basic understanding of public and private M&A, corporate governance, board fiduciary duties, and market trends
  • Strong drafting and organizational skills
