A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or computer science, coupled with a strong academic background and excellent communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent prosecution in electrical engineering, software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies (with an emphasis on network security), machine learning/artificial intelligence, and hardware security.
  • Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand technical concepts and innovations.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • The solid law firm, engineering, and industry experience.
  • Exceptional academic achievement.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical engineering or computer science.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

 

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of patent laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing patent applications.
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering, software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies (especially network security), machine learning/artificial intelligence, and hardware security.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
