Litigation Associate

Job Overview:
A well-established defense litigation firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Associate to join its team in Westfield, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, court conferences, and the preparation of legal motions and briefs. Location:

Duties:

• Manage all phases of litigation from initial research through trial preparation
• Conduct legal research and prepare summaries, evaluations, motions, and briefs
• Handle discovery, depositions, and court conferences
• Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and motions
• Represent clients in court, depositions, and other legal proceedings
• Maintain organized and up-to-date case files
• Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards

Requirements:

• 3 to 7 years of experience in litigation
• Strong experience in defense litigation, including discovery and motion practice
• Excellent legal research and writing skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks efficiently
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Must be an active member of the New Jersey State Bar
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New Jersey State Bar (required)
