A law firm seeks a Debt Finance Associate with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join its team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in debt financing, including corporate debt facilities, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and project finance, with additional expertise in copyright and entertainment law being a plus. This role offers an excellent opportunity to advise on complex financial transactions while working collaboratively within a dynamic team.

Duties

  • Provide legal counsel on a variety of debt financing matters, including corporate debt facilities, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, and project finance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate financing agreements, security documents, and related legal paperwork.
  • Offer strategic legal advice on finance and secured transactions to clients in multiple industries.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, associates, and support staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Conduct due diligence, legal research, and analysis to support ongoing and new transactions.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in debt finance law to ensure cutting-edge advice for clients.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • 2-5 years of experience in debt finance, ideally within a large law firm.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with clients in the entertainment industry or private credit and private equity sectors.
  • Familiarity with copyright law and intellectual property matters.
