A law firm seeks a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team in Houston, TX.

Job Overview:

The Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will provide expert legal counsel to clients facing criminal charges, manage case strategies, represent clients in court proceedings, and ensure the best possible outcomes for each case.

Duties:

Advise clients on their rights and draw up legal documents about their cases.
Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advisement on optimal strategies.
Manage all aspects of court appearances and trials, including drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research.
Analyze potential case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents.
Effectively manage the workload of cases to ensure timely and thorough representation.
Provide comprehensive legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
Gather additional evidence to support client cases or refute prosecution charges.
Prepare clients for depositions and develop essential goals for case strategy.
Collaborate with fellow associates to strategize and provide mutual support.

Requirements:

4-5 years of experience in Criminal Defense.
Experience handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
Fluent in both English and Spanish.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Strong team player mentality.

Education & Certifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

Proficient in legal research and analysis.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
Attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
