A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated attorney to join its Consumer Financial Services practice group in Portland, OR. This position focuses on litigation matters related to consumer finance, offering an excellent opportunity for attorneys with a background in this area to contribute to a dynamic legal team. Duties

  • Handle litigation matters related to consumer financial services law.
  • Represent clients in cases involving federal statutes such as:
    • Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
    • Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
    • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).
  • Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and statutes.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop effective case strategies.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates and explain legal processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation related to consumer financial services law.
  • Strong academic and professional credentials.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters effectively.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with at least one of the following state bars:
    • California
    • Nevada
    • New Mexico
    • Oklahoma
  • Admission to additional state bars is considered a plus.
