A law firm in Fresno, CA is seeking an Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Sr. Associate Attorney, the Immigration Attorney will manage a caseload of immigration cases, engage in client interactions, and collaborate with the firm's Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience, with a strong ability to handle complex cases and provide strategic legal solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney while managing an individual caseload of immigration cases.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts to clients and present strategic legal solutions tailored to their needs.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a high volume of cases, ensuring timely and effective progress.
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers to gather information for case preparation.
  • Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications and packets.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and develop appropriate legal strategies.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients and prepare legal briefs for a range of immigration matters.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases efficiently.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.

  • Proficiency in case management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
