Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a skilled Mid-Level Private Equity Associate Attorney to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising private equity firms and their portfolio companies in various complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, equity investments, and general corporate matters.

Duties:

  • Advise private equity firms and portfolio companies on complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and equity investments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on issues related to private equity transactions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop legal strategies and solutions.
  • Manage and oversee due diligence processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience advising on private equity transactions.
  • Experience with AmLaw 100 firms or SEC-related matters preferred.
  • Admitted to practice law in Illinois.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven research, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Effective management and leadership skills.

Education and Certifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligible for admission by waiver.
