Job Overview

A law firm in Berwyn, PA is seeking a motivated and experienced CFIUS and International Trade/Export Controls Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience handling international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement matters. This role requires a solid understanding of the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), United States export controls, and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Familiarity with the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred. The candidate must be admitted and actively barred in Pennsylvania.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel on matters related to CFIUS, export controls, and ITAR compliance.
  • Advise clients on regulatory requirements and best practices for international trade and export controls.
  • Prepare and submit filings with CFIUS and other regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and compliance reviews for international trade transactions.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and discussions with government agencies regarding export controls and trade regulations.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in relevant laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on compliance issues for clients and internal staff.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including agreements, policies, and procedures related to international trade and export controls.
  • Assist with internal investigations and enforcement actions related to export controls and trade compliance.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement.
  • Hands-on experience with CFIUS, US export controls, and ITAR.
  • General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.
  • Admitted and actively barred in Pennsylvania.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of CFIUS, ITAR, and US export control regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and legal principles.
