Real Estate Attorney

A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Real Estate Attorney to join their team in Melville, NY. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment handling a broad range of real estate matters, including residential transactions, leases, and general litigation. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of experience, a strong background in contract negotiations and closings, and an ability to collaborate effectively with clients, courts, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.

Duties

• Handle residential real estate transactions, including contract negotiations and closings
• Assist with the preparation and review of leases
• Manage general litigation matters related to real estate and estate work
• Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and courts in a professional and timely manner
• Provide legal counsel and strategy for real estate-related matters
• Maintain case files and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop case strategies and provide exceptional client service
• Stay updated on real estate laws and regulations, ensuring effective application in practice

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law, particularly in residential transactions
• Strong understanding of contract law, lease agreements, and real estate litigation
• Ability to manage complex legal matters and maintain high attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Ability to interact professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
• Admission to the New York State Bar

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
