A law firm seeks an experienced Construction Labor Law Litigation Attorney to join its New York office. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of general litigation experience, including exposure to New York Labor Law. This position offers the flexibility to work either remotely or in-office, providing an excellent opportunity to manage complex litigation matters in areas such as New York Labor Law, general liability, premises liability, and municipal liability. Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload involving New York Labor Law, general liability, premises liability, and municipal liability.
  • Manage litigation from start to finish, including the preparation of pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Conduct legal research and provide thorough analysis to support case strategies.
  • Lead discovery processes, including managing depositions and document review.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and mentor junior team members.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients and manage client relationships.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of general litigation experience.
  • Experience with New York Labor Law is preferred.
  • Proven ability to handle complex litigation matters independently, including case preparation, discovery management, and trial preparation.
  • Strong research, writing, and legal analysis skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Current, active New York Bar membership in good standing.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and case management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting of legal documents.
  • Ability to independently handle high-stakes cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
