A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking an Immigration Attorney with 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law. The candidate will report to the Sr. Associate Attorney, manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.

 

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a workload of cases efficiently
  • Conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Review and adjust immigration application packets as necessary
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on immigration law changes
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
  • Provide legal analysis to determine possible case benefits for clients
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing
  • 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Experience with Case Management Software preferred
  • Preferably bilingual in Spanish

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admitted to practice law and in good standing

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • High-caliber interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Case Management Software preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
