Job Overview: A reputable law firm, located in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an experienced Estate Planning and Probate Attorney to join its team. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in developing customized estate plans, managing probate processes, and providing strategic advice on tax implications.

Duties:

  • Create and implement estate plans tailored to client's unique needs and goals.
  • Advise clients on tax-related aspects of estate planning, including strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Guide clients through the probate process, including court proceedings, asset valuation, debt settlement, and asset distribution.
  • Assist trustees with trust administration matters and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to clients on estate planning and probate-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in estate planning and probate law.
  • Proven expertise in developing comprehensive estate plans and handling probate processes.
  • Strong understanding of tax law as it applies to estate planning, including gift and estate tax strategies.
  • Experience working with trustees and guiding them through the trust administration process.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the state of Michigan.
