Job Overview:

Location:

Duties:

  • Advise clients on renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, geothermal, hydrogen, and battery storage.
  • Draft and negotiate various agreements, such as power purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, hedge contracts, equipment supply contracts, and construction contracts.
  • Assist with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate transactions within the renewable energy space.
  • Work closely with developers, investors, utilities, and corporate buyers on the financing, purchasing, selling, and management of renewable energy projects.
  • Provide counsel on regulatory and financial issues affecting renewable energy initiatives.
  • Take on significant responsibility from day one, working directly with clients and managing complex legal matters.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team of attorneys to provide creative and practical solutions to client challenges.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of law firm experience in project development, finance, mergers & acquisitions, or commercial contracts.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and drafting key agreements such as power purchase agreements, construction contracts, or asset/company sale agreements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A collaborative team-oriented attitude and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical advice on complex legal matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in relevant jurisdiction(s) or eligibility for admission.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in applicable state(s) or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Skills:

  • Expertise in project development, finance, and renewable energy-related transactions.
  • Strong contract negotiation and drafting capabilities.
