A law firm in Detroit, MI, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of personal injury defense litigation experience to independently handle 1st and 3rd party auto litigation cases, develop case strategies, prepare legal documents, conduct discovery, and represent clients in both State and Federal Courts. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in the State of Michigan and possess strong trial experience.

Job Duties:

  • Independently handle 1st and 3rd party auto litigation cases.
  • Develop case strategies and provide legal advice to Firm clients.
  • Prepare Motions, Briefs, Case Evaluation Summaries, and Facilitation Summaries.
  • Conduct discovery, including written discovery and taking and defending depositions.
  • Represent clients in both State and Federal Courts.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of personal injury defense litigation experience.
  • Prior experience with tracking billable hours is preferred.
  • Trial experience is preferred.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of Michigan.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation and case management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
