A law firm seeks a mid-level leveraged finance associate to enhance its team supporting both lender and borrower practices. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of three years of experience in leveraged buyout financings. Ideal applicants will possess strong academic credentials, relevant experience in large law firms, and excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Duties

  • Assist in structuring and negotiating leveraged finance transactions, including buyouts and acquisitions.
  • Provide support for both lender and borrower-side practices within the finance team.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and analysis of financing agreements and related documentation.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, credit agreements, and other related documents.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop effective financing strategies.
  • Stay updated on market trends and legal developments related to leveraged finance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in leveraged finance or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic performance is preferred.

Certifications

  • Must be admitted to the NC State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficient in legal research and financial analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
