Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney to join its team in North Carolina. This full-time position focuses on creditors' rights, foreclosure, replevins, bankruptcy, collections, and landlord/tenant law, as well as other real estate-related matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in these practice areas and be eager to engage in direct client interaction and courtroom proceedings. This is a remote position with the opportunity to work throughout the state of North Carolina.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court across North Carolina.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents on behalf of clients, including pleadings, motions, and contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients on business and legal matters.
  • Negotiate settlements in legal disputes and work towards favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the North Carolina Managing Attorney and assist with various legal tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina (required).
  • Admission to the Federal District Courts of North Carolina (preferred).
  • 1-5 years of experience in legal practice, with a preference for experience in real estate law.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to interact with clients, court personnel, and defendants daily.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active North Carolina State Bar membership.
  • Admission to the Federal District Courts of North Carolina (preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent client communication and negotiation skills.
