Job Title: General Liability - Defense Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in White Plains, NY is seeking an experienced General Liability Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to support its Medical and Life Sciences team. This role involves defending general and premises liability matters for various clients, including healthcare, senior living, and restaurant/building owners. The position will also focus on the defense of product liability claims for manufacturers of FDA-regulated products in New York, New Jersey, and federal courts.

Duties:

• Take and defend depositions for general/premises and product liability cases.
• Research legal, medical, and scientific issues while collaborating with senior attorneys.
• Draft complex motions, including motions for summary judgment, pleadings, and discovery materials.
• Prepare detailed reports for clients, including deposition summaries and case analyses.
• Work closely with expert witnesses to strengthen case strategies.
• Participate in the planning and preparation for trial, mediation, and ADR.
• Represent clients during courtroom appearances and oral arguments.
• Maintain a minimum of 1900 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of first-chair deposition and courtroom experience in general or premises liability and/or product liability matters.
• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (New Jersey Bar is a plus).
• Experience with New York Courts is essential.
• Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Capable of managing multiple competing deadlines independently.
• Exhibits professionalism, dedication, and responsibility.
• Strong interpersonal and client relations skills.
• Military experience is welcome.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be admitted to the New York State Bar (New Jersey Bar preferred).

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research, drafting motions, and case analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of New York and federal court procedures.
