Job Title: Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its team. Duties:

  • Analyze and review workers’ compensation claims to provide legal guidance

  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft various legal documents, including client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs

  • Represent clients at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers' Compensation Board

  • Assist in trial preparation and attend hearings

  • Retain and evaluate expert witnesses for cases

  • Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1,950 hours

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of New York; additional state bar admissions are a plus

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and oral)

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively

  • Exceptional client service skills and professionalism in all forms of communication

  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-approved law school

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice in the state of New York (other states are a plus)

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and litigation skills

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
