Job Overview: A reputable law firm is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Social Security Disability (SSD) Lead Attorney to join its team. The Lead Attorney will be responsible for overseeing the legal team handling SSD cases, ensuring legal compliance, managing case development from start to finish, and supervising a team of Hearing Attorneys. This role will require someone who can provide strategic advice, manage day-to-day operations, and deliver high-quality legal services while maintaining compliance with Social Security Administration (SSA) regulations.

Location:

Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with Social Security Administration (SSA) guidelines, state and federal regulations, and best legal practices.
  • Handle complex and high-priority cases, offering strategic direction on case development.
  • Review and approve legal filings, briefs, and documents related to SSD cases.
  • Stay current on changes to Social Security Disability laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Implement internal procedures to ensure compliance with SSA standards.
  • Develop risk management strategies to avoid potential legal issues.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of Hearing Attorneys, offering guidance and training as needed.
  • Monitor the quality of legal representation provided by Hearing Attorneys.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of Hearing Attorneys and provide feedback.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients with complex cases.
  • Regularly update clients on case status and address their concerns.
  • Offer legal counseling to clients regarding SSD benefits and eligibility.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Social Security Disability law.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing and mentoring a team of attorneys.
  • Strong knowledge of Social Security Disability laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and client-focused with a commitment to achieving favorable outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SSD appeals and hearings.
  • Prior leadership experience within a legal environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing.
