Associate Attorney Labor and Employment

Job Overview: A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in general litigation and labor and employment law. This position is ideal for candidates who have a background in handling class actions, representative actions, and single-plaintiff cases. The role involves a variety of tasks including providing employment advice, conducting discovery, and defending depositions. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to draft motions and briefs, engage in evidentiary hearings, and represent clients in trial settings.

Duties:

• Manage and litigate class action and representative actions.
• Represent clients in single-plaintiff employment disputes.
• Provide general legal counsel on employment-related issues.
• Conduct discovery, including depositions and written discovery.
• Draft and file motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Participate in evidentiary hearings and status conferences.
• Argue dispositive motions in court and assist in trial preparations.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on labor and employment law.
• Demonstrated experience in managing class actions, representative actions, and single-plaintiff cases.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct and defend depositions, and represent clients in hearings and trials.
• Active admission to the California State Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

• Expertise in labor and employment law, including general advice and counsel.
• Proficient in legal research and writing.
• Strong litigation skills, including preparing motions, briefs, and pleadings.
• Capable of managing complex litigation cases from start to finish.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
