A multi-practice area law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join the California team in Los Angeles. This role is ideal for candidates with 1-5 years of civil litigation experience, particularly those with expertise in Securities/FINRA and/or Professional Liability Defense. Duties

  • Represent clients in legal proceedings and handle all phases of civil litigation.
  • Prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, and manage discovery.
  • Participate in mediations, hearings, and depositions as necessary.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Collaborate with partners and clients, providing regular case updates and resolving issues.
  • Develop strategies and arguments for case presentation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of billable hours and adherence to firm policies.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a preference for Securities/FINRA and Professional Liability Defense.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to work additional hours as needed based on caseload.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar is required.

  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state civil procedure rules.
  • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills.
  • Attention to detail with excellent proofreading abilities.
