This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated attorney with a strong interest in transactional tax law to work on sophisticated matters within a highly collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a broad range of tax-related matters, including transactional tax issues.
  • Handle complex tax planning and compliance matters, ensuring legal accuracy and strategic insight.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop client solutions tailored to their business needs.
  • Conduct legal research, prepare memos, and draft legal documents, including contracts and agreements.
  • Participate in the structuring of transactions and advise clients on the tax implications of various business strategies.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, providing advice on tax-efficient strategies.
  • Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm to deliver integrated legal services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant tax laws and regulations, applying them effectively in practice.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in transactional tax law.
  • Strong academic background with high performance during law school.
  • Ability to work well within a team and contribute to a collaborative environment.
  • Proven interest in tax law with a proactive, entrepreneurial approach.
  • Must be admitted to the Bar in Washington, DC, or have the ability to waive in.
  • Prior experience in a comparable law firm is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to the Bar in Washington, DC (or ability to waive in).

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations, particularly transactional tax matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
