A law firm seeks an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team. Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal court, engaging with prosecutors and court staff.
  • Draft and prepare various legal documents on behalf of clients.
  • Advise clients on the status and strategy of their criminal cases.
  • Negotiate plea deals and work towards favorable case dismissals.
  • Lead trial preparations and take charge of trial proceedings.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal standards and regulations.
  • Perform administrative tasks to manage and organize the criminal defense practice.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of criminal defense experience.
  • Familiarity with various offense categories and knowledge of court systems in multiple counties.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in Texas.

Skills:

  • Expertise in criminal defense law, including both trial and pre-trial procedures.
  • Skilled in negotiating plea agreements and other settlements.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and maintain a strong level of organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) are highly valued but not required.
