A law firm is seeking an Intellectual Property Patent Agent in Denver. The Patent Agent will play a crucial role in drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to various technical fields, including mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and materials science. The ideal candidate will be a registered patent agent with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

 

Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science.
  • Conduct patentability and prior art searches.
  • Collaborate with inventors and attorneys to develop patent strategies.
  • Assist in patent portfolio management and maintenance.
  • Provide technical expertise during patent litigation and licensing negotiations.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science.
  • Current status as a registered patent agent.
  • 2+ years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications in areas such as chemical compounds, chemical processes, engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspensions, control systems, consumer products, or medical devices.
  • Strong collaborative skills and a client-focused mindset.
  • Excellent academic credentials and professional recommendations.
  • Strong writing skills with attention to detail.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or materials science.

 

Certifications:

Current registration as a patent agent.
