Job Overview:

The Junior International Trade Associate Attorney will assist senior attorneys in advising clients on export controls, ITAR, CFIUS, sanctions, and other trade regulations. The role requires proactive engagement in research, analysis, and the preparation of legal documents to ensure compliance and strategic advice.

Duties:

  • Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Produce high-quality legal documents and deliverables and respond to correspondence promptly.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and drafting under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Participate in meetings and conference calls, both virtual and in-person, as needed.
  • Comply with firm policies and practices, including ethical standards and confidentiality requirements.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by supervising attorneys.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in international trade law, with proficiency in export controls, ITAR, CFIUS, and sanctions.
  • Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm preferred.
  • Government or agency experience related to international trade is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
