Family Law Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Family Law Attorney to provide compassionate legal representation to clients navigating complex family law matters. This role involves managing cases from inception to resolution, working closely with clients and legal staff, and advocating in court. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with strong trial skills and a commitment to client-centered legal services.

Duties:

• Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess legal needs.
• Manage family law cases from filing to final orders, including post-decree matters and appeals.
• Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and agreements.
• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and depositions.
• Provide legal counsel and keep clients informed about case progress.
• Collaborate with paralegals and other legal staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Participate in biweekly meetings with managing attorneys to discuss case strategy.
• Maintain compliance with billing requirements and meet monthly billing targets.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in Colorado.
• Minimum of two years of experience in family law.
• Strong legal writing and research skills (Lexis-Nexis experience preferred).
• Understanding of rules of evidence and discovery procedures.
• Experience handling cases from initiation through trial, including appeals.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with occasional in-office meetings.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and good-standing membership with the Colorado State Bar.
