Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience to join their San Francisco, CA office. The successful candidate will be an integrated member of patent litigation teams, including attorneys from across the firm. This position involves advising companies at every stage of development, from entrepreneurial start-ups to multibillion-dollar corporations. The attorney will represent a diverse client base at trials and will be involved in all phases of the client relationship, from understanding the client's technology to providing strategic counseling and working with other practice groups to offer comprehensive legal advice.

Duties:

  • Serve as an integral member of patent litigation teams.
  • Advise clients at various stages of development, from start-ups to large corporations.
  • Represent clients in federal court.
  • Engage in strategic counseling with clients regarding their technology and business goals.
  • Collaborate with other practice groups to provide holistic legal advice.
  • Prepare and manage cases from inception through trial, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and motions.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed of case progress.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Experience litigating in federal court.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering, computer science, physics, applied math, or similar disciplines gained through education or work experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, research, and interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California Bar.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar is required.
  • Admission to other state bars is a plus but not required.
