A law firm in Denville, NJ is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of family law experience, including significant trial experience. This role requires expertise in managing complex family law cases, including depositions, witness examinations, and courtroom appearances. Key Responsibilities

  • Trial Experience: Manage and handle family law cases through trial, including presenting evidence, examining witnesses, and making court appearances.
  • Client Representation: Represent clients in family law matters, such as divorce, child custody, support, adoption, and other related legal issues.
  • Case Management: Oversee all aspects of family law cases from start to finish, including discovery, pleadings, and motions.
  • Depositions and Witness Examination: Take and defend depositions, as well as conduct witness examinations during court proceedings.
  • Legal Writing and Research: Draft briefs, motions, and other legal documents with a high degree of accuracy and clarity. Perform thorough legal research to support cases.
  • Court Appearances: Represent clients during court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain ongoing communication with clients, providing legal advice and updates on case progress.
  • Business Development: If applicable, develop and expand the firm's client base through networking and community involvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys and staff to provide high-quality legal services and strategic advice to clients.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of family law experience, with a strong background in managing complex family law litigation.
  • Significant trial experience is required, including courtroom advocacy, witness examinations, and presenting evidence.
  • Ability to handle family law matters such as divorce, child custody, alimony, child support, and adoption.
  • New Jersey Bar Admission is required and must be in good standing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, court personnel, and colleagues.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills for drafting persuasive legal documents.
  • Ability to take and defend depositions, examine witnesses, and prepare cases for trial.
  • Strong understanding of New Jersey family law statutes and court procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple family law cases simultaneously and work efficiently under deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications and Bar Admission

  • Admitted to practice law in New Jersey and in good standing.
