Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Conducting legal research and analysis on complex litigation matters
• Managing discovery, including fact and expert witness discovery
• Preparing for and conducting depositions
• Assisting in trial preparation and strategy
• Engaging in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes
• Maintaining communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
• Taking on significant responsibility in case management and strategy development

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the Illinois State Bar in good standing
• 2-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation
• Strong academic credentials and professional achievements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with trial preparation and courtroom appearances
• Familiarity with electronic discovery and litigation support tools
• Knowledge of local court rules and procedures
