A law firm in Tampa, FL is seeking a skilled and dedicated Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will manage a varied caseload, self-manage time and client attention, and lead support staff effectively. This role requires a strong dedication to achieving the best outcomes for clients, with empowering communication and interpersonal skills. The Associate Attorney will handle all aspects of pre-suit and litigation files, including drafting and filing legal documents, negotiating settlements, and representing clients through trials.

Duties:

  • Manage a varied caseload, including pre-suit and litigation files.
  • Self-manage time effectively to ensure attention to clients and cases.
  • Lead and develop support staff, including providing training as needed.
  • Dedicate to achieving the best outcome for all parties associated with the practice.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and other parties.
  • Draft and file litigation documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, discovery responses, demands, motions, and memoranda.
  • Negotiate settlements and handle presentations with outstanding skills.
  • Screen potential clients to determine case viability.
  • Investigate claims, gather evidence, and document injuries and expenses.
  • Calculate damages and review medical documents.
  • Interview witnesses and prepare clients for depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
  • Represent clients throughout the trial process.
  • Counsel clients throughout the entire claims process, ensuring they are informed and supported.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership with the Florida Bar and in good standing.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience preferred, but candidates with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven ability to manage a full caseload, including both pre-suit and litigation matters.
  • Experience in drafting and filing legal documents, and strong skills in negotiation, communication, and presentation.
  • Ability to investigate claims, gather evidence, and handle various aspects of case preparation and representation.
  • Strong leadership abilities to manage and train support staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and dedication to client service.
  • Ability to self-manage and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership with the Florida State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong case management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficiency in drafting litigation documents and handling complex case tasks.
  • Ability to lead and develop support staff effectively.
  • Proficient in investigating claims, gathering evidence, and calculating damages.
