Job Overview:
A well-established multi-state law firm is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join its workers’ compensation defense team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on workers' compensation. This role offers flexibility with in-office, hybrid, or fully remote work options. Location:

  • Colorado Springs, CO

Duties:

  • Manage workers’ compensation cases independently from inception through resolution.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, hearings, and court proceedings.
  • Draft post-trial motions and handle appeals.
  • Provide general litigation support for partners and associates.
  • Develop and litigate cases, including representing clients in settlement negotiations.
  • Offer legal advice to clients on a range of workers’ compensation issues.
  • Interact professionally and ethically with clients, opposing counsel, and court officials.
  • Review and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on workers' compensation defense.
  • Must reside in Colorado, Arizona, Wyoming, or Montana.
  • Strong experience with case management, legal research, and drafting legal documents.
  • Proven ability to manage caseloads independently, while collaborating with a team.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to present legal arguments clearly and effectively in court.
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Colorado (other state bar admissions are a plus).

Certifications:

  • Admitted to the Colorado State Bar (required).
  • Additional bar admissions in Arizona, Wyoming, or Montana are a plus.
