A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking an Immigration Attorney. The candidate will conduct legal research, draft documents, represent clients in court proceedings, manage case files, and provide legal advice. Fluency in Spanish is required. The attorney will collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and grow the client base.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research to support cases.
  • Draft legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, and motions.
  • Interact with clients to gather information and provide updates.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and argue motions.
  • Manage case files, including documentation and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop legal strategies.
  • Provide legal advice to clients, often under supervision.
  • Stay informed about changes in the law and participate in continuing legal education.
  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency required.
  • Experience with immigration court proceedings, including asylum and removal cases, is desirable.

 

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Successful completion of the Bar exam.
  • Active membership in the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • 4+ years of experience practicing immigration, PI, or Crimigration law.
