Job Title: Environmental Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm located in New York City, NY, is currently seeking an experienced attorney to join its Environmental Law practice. The role will primarily focus on complex multi-party litigation, with an emphasis on environmental matters, particularly CERCLA. The attorney will work closely with senior partners and the litigation team on a variety of high-stakes cases, providing opportunities to make a significant impact in the field.

Duties:

• Lead and manage environmental litigation, particularly in multi-party cases.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests and legal motions.
• Conduct legal research and contribute to case strategy development.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to create and refine litigation strategies.
• Prepare legal briefs, position papers, and other written materials for court submissions.
• Assist with client communications and case management as necessary.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on complex cases.
• Strong legal writing skills, with experience in drafting motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Prior experience in environmental law, especially CERCLA, is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
