A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an experienced Private Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to handle a diverse caseload involving class actions, single plaintiff cases, and general employment law matters. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, proficiency in litigation processes, and be admitted to practice law in California.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a variety of employment law cases, including class action and representative actions, single plaintiff cases, and general employment disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex employment law issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery materials.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, evidentiary hearings, status conferences, and trials.
  • Provide strategic employment law advice and counsel to clients, including compliance guidance and litigation strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal staff on case strategy and client representation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience in general litigation and/or labor and employment law.
  • Proven experience with class actions, representative actions, and single plaintiff litigation.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload and work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work product.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience advising clients on employment law matters, including compliance, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with federal and California employment laws and regulations.
  • Trial experience and proficiency in arguing dispositive motions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
