A law firm seeks a dedicated Healthcare Litigation Associate to join its dynamic national practice, specifically within the Dallas office. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex litigation, particularly in healthcare law, and a proven ability to draft key legal documents. As part of a highly collaborative team, this role involves managing significant litigation matters with a focus on healthcare-related issues such as medical malpractice, managed care, and reimbursement. The position offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases while contributing to the growth of the firm's national healthcare litigation practice.

Duties

  • Handle complex litigation matters, focusing on healthcare-related legal issues.
  • Draft key legal documents including briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, discovery requests, and memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with case strategy development.
  • Take part in depositions, and represent clients in pretrial matters.
  • Provide support in medical malpractice, medical staffing issues, and reimbursement-related cases.
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues to ensure effective management of cases.
  • Assist in the growth of the firm's healthcare litigation practice, contributing to team development.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in complex litigation, ideally with healthcare law exposure.
  • Strong experience in drafting and preparing litigation documents such as briefs, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prior experience with managed care, medical malpractice, or medical staffing issues is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage litigation matters independently while contributing to the broader team.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to quickly understand complex legal concepts.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in Texas or Tennessee.

Skills

  • Litigation Expertise: Strong foundation in handling complex litigation matters and preparing for trial.
  • Writing Proficiency: Excellent ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.
  • Health Care Law: Knowledge or experience in managed care, medical malpractice, and reimbursement issues is a plus.
