Job Overview
A law firm is currently seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney with 5 to 7 years of experience. The role involves advising and supporting case teams and clients throughout the discovery phases of litigation, including preservation, production, pre-litigation information governance, deposition/witness preparation, and trial preparation. The Senior Discovery Attorney will collaborate with other attorneys, technologists, and clients to manage case-specific workflows and protocols for eDiscovery, ensuring risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility while focusing on identifying critical information for successful case outcomes.

Duties

  • Advise and support case teams and clients through all discovery phases, from preservation to production.

  • Provide guidance on pre-litigation information governance, deposition preparation, and trial preparation.

  • Collaborate with eDiscovery attorneys, technologists, and clients to craft and manage case-specific workflows.

  • Ensure that eDiscovery protocols are designed to mitigate risks, control costs, and maintain defensibility.

  • Oversee and ensure quality of work and deliverables for associated attorneys, project attorneys, technologists, and service providers.

  • Monitor and ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in all deliverables related to discovery matters.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and related legal matters.

  • In-depth knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Fluency with corporate messaging, collaboration, and productivity solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace).

  • Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.

  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Relevant certifications in eDiscovery or related areas preferred.

Skills

  • Expertise in eDiscovery lifecycle management.

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including technologists and legal professionals.

  • High attention to detail and focus on quality control.
